As knowledge spreads, people's knowledge of how powerless they are also spreads. Something has to give there.

We are only a few years into the advent of the digital age and the ramifications are already deep and widespread. Things are moving fast now, with much greater species-awareness and ecological-awareness giving rise to greater apprehension of the unity of existence, hence greater universality and sense of interdependence. This affects not only the mind but also the heart.
