I'd call it President Obama’s unprincipled expedient decision rather than fateful decision, although it was that, too. It will sink his legacy down to the level of George W. Bush as one of the most un-American and despotic administrations on record with respect to constitutional, civil rights and liberties, and human rights abuses.

we're all ensnared, backing the ongoing abuses propagated by the 1%, and their lobbyists who will do anything in their power to maintain their hegemony over the Middle Class

even if they have to slit their own throats

as usual, kinder, wiser people have to save these clever sociopaths from themselves
